I am a licensed Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT) with the regulatory body Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I am a member in good standing with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counsellors, and Therapists (AASECT). I am an accredited sexual health provider, completing my studies with the Buehler Institute in California. I am currently practicing sex therapy, under the supervision of Marne Wine and Dr. Neil Cannon both of Colorado, I am working towards certification with ASSECT (February 2023). I am a PhD student in clinical sexology, working with Dr. Carol Clark and her faculty of Florida International Institute of Clinical Sexology.
Sex therapy is a specialized psychotherapy designed to support individuals and partners in addressing medical, psychological, personal, and interpersonal factors related to sexuality.
I work with individuals across the lifespan who are experiencing issues, concerns or curiosities related to sexual health including sexuality, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expressions, body image, sexual self-esteem, sexual issues related to cancer or chronic illness and sexual issues related to menopause.
Sexual health is an essential part of overall emotional and physical well being, it’s no wonder when issues arise, it can be distressing and often overlooked by mainstream medical and mental health.
I am a family therapist, trained in Narrative Therapy. I studied and trained with Stephen Madigan and his faculty at the Vancouver School of Narrative Therapy. While this is my steadfast approach, I do incorporate an integrative circle of care while I’m working with the family system.
I am a couples therapist trained in Emotion-Focused (EFT), Imago, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman, and Crucible Therapy. Using a consolidative approach, I will draw upon these different modalities as I carefully tailor my therapy facilitation specifically to the couple I’m working with.
As your therapist, I work from a client-centered approach. I offer a safe and inclusive space to explore possibilities. My promise to you is to show up at my best to create a meaningful therapeutic relationship that will provide the means for exploration, discovery, healing, personal and relational growth.
I look forward to connecting,
My commitment statement to equity, diversity and inclusion:
