It is important to have connection and support in order to thrive and create a mentally healthy life. It is also important to understand your limitations and know your strengths and successes. In order to achieve these ideals, one must embrace the feelings/emotions that they are experiencing, which isn’t always a natural process for everyone. Exploring and unpacking such thoughts, feelings, and behaviours is an important part of therapy and a journey that does not have to be overwhelming. Sometimes life can be challenging, but we don’t have to navigate those challenges alone. I am a registered counselling therapist (candidate) who believes that each individual deserves to feel heard and supported. I have experience working with individuals and their situations related to trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and self-esteem. I believe in creating an environment of support and compassion, which fosters a safe space for clients to better understand their needs. My educational background is science focused and I have experience working with a combined therapeutic approach of both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy, while always ensuring that my approach is client-cantered and trauma-informed. That being said, I believe that every client is different and recognize the importance of tailoring a specific approach to the individual needs of each client.
