Registered Counselling Therapist       MA, CCC, RCT-C

Hello, thank you for taking the time to check and see if we would be a good fit to work together!

I am a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate (RCT-C) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling therapists (NSCCT) and a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

As your therapist, I would describe myself as warm, client-centred and an advocate for you as the expert in your own life. I work from a feminist trauma-informed lens and believe that creating a safe and non-judgemental space for you to open-up is critical to begin the healing process.

One of my areas of interest is working with people who have survived sexual abuse or other personal trauma. Initially, I build rapport and a trusting relationship with you. One of our first tasks usually involves identifying your strengths and what’s important to you; these are major components of allowing successful trauma processing and resolution to occur.

Another area of interest for me is working with adolescents. Having once been a teen in need of additional support, I am able to empathize and quickly connect with young people. It’s normally expected when children reach adolescence, relationships begin to cause stress. Relationships between parents and adolescents are crucial for development, but they may become strained by the changes that come with this stage. Relationships with peers can be tricky to navigate and can be a major source of stress for young people and can contribute to mental health issues or lower quality of life. In my work with youth main topics include anxiety, depression, self-harm, self-esteem, anger management and emotion regulation.

I am passionate about supporting others! I have several years of experience volunteering in non-profit organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, Best Buddies and the Sexual Violence Crisis Line.

On a personal note, I am a homebody who enjoys spending quality time with family, friends, and of course my cat Cleo!

I look forward to connecting.
