Hello and welcome!
My name is Megan (she/her) and I am a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) with the Nova Scotia College of Counseling Therapists.
Prior to becoming a counselling therapist, I was fortunate to occupy many supportive roles working with children, adolescents, and parents in school, residential, and clinical mental health settings. While my current therapeutic approach is integrative, I practice from an acceptance, mindfulness, and relational lens, often pulling from modalities such as Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Some of my other areas of interest include family dynamics, anxiety, and implementing the creative arts into my therapeutic practice (of which I aim to soon become formally trained in).
Above and beyond, I am passionate about supporting others from an equitable and socially-just place and strive to ensure this is at the core of my practice. If we work together, my number one priority will always be that you feel safe and welcome. Moreover, I am a firm believer that individuals are capable of change in all areas of their lives. Oftentimes, it is the help of someone outside of the picture to help nonjudgmentally guide this process.
I look forward to getting to know you and am grateful to be a part of this journey alongside you,
Megan
Everyone is Welcome
