Hello and Welcome!

My name is Nora-Jane (she/her), I am a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate. I was born and raised here in beautiful Nova Scotia; growing up in a small community where I continue to appreciate quiet rural living and enjoy being immersed in nature.

I believe the most powerful resource I have to offer as a therapist, is a space that is held exclusively for you, that is supportive and non-judgemental where you can share your experiences, to be seen, heard, understood, and validated. In our therapeutic relationship you are held with unconditional positive regard, kindness, compassion, and with deep empathy.

Life is challenging! Most of us are routinely faced with an increased number of demands placed on us by situations, expectations, workload, mental load, emotional load, relationships, physical health, mental health and more. Our overall well-being depends on our ability to cope, but is this life’s measure just to survive? As your therapist, I want you to live! Together, we can develop an understanding of the challenges you are facing, explore your concerns, and find strategies and tools to support your needs.

My areas of clinical focus are anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, life transitions, substance use, chronic trauma, adult neurodiversity, and sexual health.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, I pull from various modalities to inform my work- such as mindfulness-based therapy, somatic therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.  I am a strengths-based and client-centered therapist, I work in collaboration with you to create your therapeutic experience where you can heal, grow and flourish.  I am a neurodiverse-affirming, sex-positive and body-positive therapist.

On a personal note, I’m a mom to several cats and dogs who bring me lots of peace and happiness. In my free time, I enjoy camping, reading, and watching documentaries.

I look forward to connecting,

Nora-Jane

Everyone is Welcome
