Hi There!
My name is Nicole and my pronouns are she, her and hers. I am a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I believe that therapy is a great place for self-exploration, discovery and healing. Through my own personal experience, I have learned how helpful therapy can be to promote confidence, self-compassion and growth. I believe in helping clients identify and use their strengths to achieve meaningful change.
Sometimes we need another person in our corner to see our strengths and empower us so we can then see them in ourselves. I will be in your corner to support and challenge you. As your therapist, I will provide a safe, validating, non-judgmental space for you to have the opportunity to share your story and be heard. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion regulation as well as gender identity and sexuality. I am passionate about supporting individuals across the lifespan on their healing journey. However, I do have a particular interest in working with LGBTQIA2s+ and non-binary folks.
My approach to counselling is based on your unique, individual needs. I may pull from different inclusive frameworks, tools and interventions based on what you would like to achieve during our sessions together. Through curiosity, warmth, humor and honesty, we can work collaboratively to understand, explore challenges and difficulties that you may be experiencing. Together, we can build a toolbox using your strengths and abilities to help you navigate life’s challenges.
When I am not counselling, I like to spend my time with my partner and our two cats. I enjoy volunteering in my community and exploring our beautiful beaches across the province.
Wherever you may be in your journey in seeking therapy, I am happy to talk with you about what your next steps might be.
Nicole
Everyone is Welcome
