Namaste, Kwe’, Hello, and Bonjour. Thank you for taking the time. All parts of you are welcome here.
My name is Kartik Saini (he/him), and I am a queer-identified therapist based in Halifax (Kjipuktuk), Nova Scotia. I am deeply passionate about fostering safer, affirming, and inclusive spaces where individuals and couples can explore their journey and work towards healing and growth. As an immigrant and person of color, my lived experiences navigating identity, belonging, and resilience inform my approach, making it uniquely empathetic and culturally sensitive.
Immigrating to Canada in 2016 was a transformative experience for me. It allowed me to embrace my authentic self as a queer South Asian man while navigating the complexities of cultural identity. These personal milestones sparked my commitment to mental health advocacy and inspired my pursuit of a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Today, as a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate (RCT-C) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), I am dedicated to walking alongside my clients on their unique journeys.
I believe that each person has the wisdom and strength to overcome challenges, and my role is to help uncover these inner resources. Using a client-centered and trauma-informed approach, I provide a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative space. My therapeutic methods include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), the Gottman Method for couples therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. This eclectic approach allows me to tailor my care to each client’s needs.
My areas of interest are working with individuals with trauma and PTSD, grief, anxiety, depression, and relational health. My practice also extends to supporting individuals exploring challenges related to sex, intimacy, and sexuality. For couples—whether monogamous or consensually non-monogamous—I help deepen connection, improve communication, and repair relational harm. My work is particularly rooted in supporting communities, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and immigrants, by honoring their intersectional identities.
Over the past four years, I have gained extensive experience in community mental health, resettlement services, and LGBTQIA+ advocacy. These roles have equipped me with a deep understanding of the systemic issues many individuals face and the importance of accessible, inclusive care.
I am committed to lifelong learning and continue to expand my expertise through advanced training. Currently, I am pursuing my Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems while building on my existing knowledge in trauma-focused care. This dedication ensures I stay current with evidence-based practices to better serve my clients.
At the core of my practice is the belief that healing happens in relationships— whether you’re seeking support for trauma, relationship challenges, or personal growth, I am here to provide a space where you feel valued, heard, and empowered to take the steps that align with your values and aspirations.
I look forward to connecting with you and honored to walk alongside you on this journey.
Kartik
Everyone is Welcome
